Welcome to St Mark’s PTA – the Parent Teacher Association for the school.
The PTA exists to support the school as they seek to make the educational experience of every child at St Mark’s the best it can be. We do this by working alongside the staff to raise additional funds for the school and by organising events to foster community among the families of the pupils. St Mark’s has a strong history of staff, parents and the community working together – bringing creative ideas to life to enhance the learning of the children.
Every parent is warmly invited to join us at our meetings, where we share ideas and hear about how the money we are raising is being used to support the children’s education. We are always happy to hear new ideas and our annual events greatly benefit from the skills of parents across the school.
Money raised by the PTA always goes directly to the school and is currently being used to purchase learning tools for staff teaching the new curriculum. Recently, PTA funds have been used to refurbish the school pirate climbing frame, provide playground equipment for lunchtime play (including 2 outdoor table tennis tables) and PE resources to support school teams, purchase food technology, staging and sensory equipment and expand the school’s class en mass reading by purchasing 32 Kindle Fires with protective cases.
The main events organised by the PTA are the Winter Fair and the Summer Fair, and the twice yearly disco for the children. Other regular fundraisers are the Panto and Firework display events. We also hold smaller events such as the popular cake sales and Ice Cream Fridays during the summer term. Forthcoming events will be released in September but in readiness the Firework display will be on 3rd of November and the Panto on 1st of December.

Every year group in St Mark’s has PTA representatives who can help as a first port of call and who organise get togethers among the class and is our point of contact for gathering support for events. However, you can get in touch with a member of the committee by emailing email@example.com – and we’ll get back to you ASAP. The black post boxes in the school KS1 opposite Reception class building and KS2 main school reception area are also checked regularly should you need to drop in a message.
