PE Footwear

Reception/KS1

Velcro trainers- Plain/black or white. No lace ups unless your child can tie their own shoe laces tightly enough to remain tied for sport.

 

KS2

Plain Black or White trainers. No flashing lights or neon patterns. Small sports logo allowed. Astroturf trainers allowed but not neon or brightly coloured.

Footwear

 

 

Black or brown shoes or closed toe sandals must be worn. White closed toe sandals or shoes may be worn by girls with summer dresses. Footwear must be flat-heeled. Boots (defined as anything coming above the ankle) and trainers or sports shoes must not be worn.

Hats

 

Hats may be any colour, however, every child will need a red cap to wear on educational visits for health and safety reasons (it makes the children easy to identify). This may be any plainred baseball cap, with no logos or other markings, or it can be a St Mark’s School cap with the school crest on, available from the website.

Without a cap, children will not be able to accompany their class on a visit.

Additional Information

  • For the purposes of school uniform, sweatshirt jumpers and cardigans are jumpers and cardigans which are made from sweatshirt material.
  • Sweatshirts, jumpers, cardigans and white polo style t-shirt must be embroidered with the school crest. A badge containing the school crest can be purchased from the school office to be sewn onto plain items. Sweatshirts and cardigans bought to sew the school badge onto must be plain red with no other markings on, and in a plain style.
  • White shirts should be cotton or cotton effect and in a plain shirt style. Blouses (meaning any fancy white shirt for girls) are only allowed in the summer term when ties should not be worn with them, winter uniform is a plain shirt and tie, not blouses.
  • Pinafore dresses and skirts should be plain.
  • Non-waterproof fleeces may only be worn as an outdoor coat during the summer term and the first half of the autumn term. They should never be worn inside.
  • Children should have a shower proof coat with them at all times.
  • Refillable water bottles are an essential part of our school uniform.
