Our Values
Our Christian Values
At St. Mark’s school we strive to create a loving, caring and successful community. Our school values, which include kindness, humility and compassion, are important to us and support us to achieve our vision. And, above all, we clothe ourselves with love…
As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body. And be thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God.
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Colossians 3 12-17
From this, our school reading, we take the values of:
-
Love
-
Kindness
-
Forgiveness
-
Thankfulness
-
Patience
-
Compassion
-
Wisdom
-
Humility
These values are promoted across the school by all children and adults, in all that we do in our classrooms, outside them and throughout our wider community. They reinforce our relationships and our behaviour. They help us to create confident, self-assured children who know how to treat others, as well as establishing a sense of community that is demonstrated by the life-long friendships formed here.
