Prayer Space

Children at St. Mark’s cherish times at school when they can pray and reflect and at St. Mark’s we aim to offer and environment where children are given space and time to do so in their own personal way. The school regularly creates prayer spaces for Children and adults to visit and offer prayers for either different times of the Church’s year or at times within the school year that might be particularly challenging for children, for example when children are moving on to new year groups.

Glenis Rushton from the Spinnaker Trust has supported the children in setting up these spaces and volunteers often come to help lead or guide the children. Team helpers for these events consist of a wide cross section of people from across the St Mark’s School community including: parents, class friends from St Marks Church, staff members, governors, Sixth form students from Bishop Justus Secondary School and children’s workers from other churches.
