The Virtual London Youth Games are now in full swing, and I would love to give our children the opportunity to take part.

Our usual tournaments and events are hosted by the Bromley School Games team, whereby schools are given the opportunity to progress to the London Youth Games finals and represent our borough against those across London.

With this being out of the question this year, there are a series of weekly challenges that children can attempt, send their scores to their school, and see which borough comes out on top. Bromley are currently in the top spot, out of the whole of London!

Each Monday, I will simply copy and paste the e-mail and challenges from our Bromley organisers, and hopefully as many of you as possible can give whatever the challenge is a go!

If you would like to send your scores to me for forwarding on, please do this via Google Classroom. I will share the link for each weeks' challenges under 'Mr Hall's Challenges' on Google Classrooms.

Please see the e-mail pasted below, thank you.

Mr Hall

As next week is National School Sport Week, we hope to join the annual campaign and celebrate the positive role PE and School Sport has on the wellbeing of young people! We encourage as many schools as possible to get involved in the challenges and we can’t wait to see your students taking part!

The first Challenge Video for Week 3 will be released on the London Youth Games website and social media channels on Monday 22nd June at 9:00am. Here are links to download the Challenge Sheets, which include coaching tips and suggested adaptations for space, equipment, and ability.

Monday 22nd June : Hit Every Beat Dance Challenge

Tuesday 23rd  June : Bicycle Crunch Challenge

Wednesday 24th June : Indian Dribble Hockey Challenge

You can access the LYG Virtual Games toolkit here. This will be updated each day with the challenge videos for you to download and share on social media. It will also feature each week's Multi-Entry Scorecard.

We want to see your challenge attempts. Share videos on social media using #ThisIsLYG for a chance to win our weekly MVP award. Each week a MVP will be selected based on the ability, creativity and style shown in their video and they will receive a brand new pair of Nike trainers. Children must have parental permission before sharing any content with us on social media.

We can’t wait to see young Londoners continuing to come together and backing their boroughs to become the first ever LYG Virtual Games champions!
